The stars were high and bright when I crept quietly out of the house around 6:15 a.m. to drive to Queens so I could ring my cowbell and cheer for my boot camp friends at the Men's Health Urbanathlon, which started 8 a.m. It was set for November, but the Mets stake in the World Series pushed the date forward to today. So proud of my friends, and proud that I work out at boot camp in their midst.

A close-up at the starting line. They don't look worried at all about running 10 miles, doing the steps in the Citi Field stadium, scaling hurdles, buses and taxicabs. |
TCOY
- Hit 11,187 steps on my fitbit today, running around the parking lot to cheer, I guess.
- Had a big green kale salad from Whole Foods.
- Watched funny "Elf" with Punchy. Have seen before, but put me in good holiday spirit.
