I'd been going right along but then after miles of walking to and from Alexa's soccer game and into town [H. had the car for work and is in Colorado for two nights], I was tired and wanted to rest at 2:45. We had been out, mostly on foot, for 6 hours, from 8:30 to 2:30. We logged 5.8 miles.
But no such luck. My short friend wanted to play school. She set up her whole office. Sometimes I'm another teacher and sometimes I'm a student named Rose, who gets one-on-one lessons, math and spelling tests, art assignments, reading prompts, etc.
No, I said. I have to rest. I'm sorry. I'll play later.
But even with drawing that TCOY line in the sand--and Punchy was ok w it--I took the first bite, a mini cookie from the little pouch she got at 11 a.m. for soccer snack. That led to finishing the small donuts in the house, about 8 of them? And that led to lemon pudding in fridge, which led to leftover Communion sheet cake and a granola bar. I was like a twister ripping through the kitchen. Then the rest of the mini cookies in the soccer snack pouch. Then the petite chocolate "pearls" Punch gave me for Mother's Day. Then threw out rest of good homemade pudding and sheet cake. Twister passed; but truly, there was nothing left to decimate.
Back on wagon again. Thanks for caring.
Back on the wagon. Me too. I bought a big bag of sweet cherries today, on the theory fruit just isn't that bad. But I ate cherries AND cookies AND chocolate. The good news is there are still some cherries left.
ReplyDeleteI admire your blunt honesty and I know this is hard. Hopping back on the wagon is what WW teaches, too. No beating yourself up, own it and move on. The less sweets you eat, the less cravings after a while (it's really true). Hang in there, Alice. Love, Lin
ReplyDeleteHang in there, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks my friends Nan, Lin and Kim xo
