Reunited with My Figgy

Oh my God, I posted this last night and didn't see how bad I looked. I'm vain! I literally rolled out of bed to take Sug out and then Figgy came over to take a swim at the hotel. Anyway, even in the daylight, I will bravely leave this photo up because it captures the love I feel when I hug my Figgy. I hadn't seen her for over a month, since she moved up to her summer in Maine at the start of June. I can still look inside and vividly recall the rumpled little redhead in the turquoise terrycloth dress that I bought at the Gap on 57th Street on my lunch hour from Good Housekeeping. The small girl who followed a snail on a rainy day on  Cape Cod, the advernturer who studied a beached seal in Wellfleet with her Mom and Dad. [It was winter, and the poor thing had already been eaten by predators.] And now, now I see more freckles from the sun and a lovely young lady with a big heart and kind soul. I see an artist and a thinker. I see a seeker of life.
