One Day at a Time 

Making my way. Good night. TCOY
  1. Bubble bath.
  2. Important personal appt.
  3. Ice water.
  4. Healthy eating food plan, Day 2. I find I really look forward to the foods I can have: Cottage cheese, brown rice cakes, plain yogurt with frozen dark cherries as my p.m. snack. My friend loves that and now I see why.
  5. Planted marigolds and lavender impatiens.
  6. Bought two little old-school food scales, $9.95 each, at hardware store, the better to weigh a 4-oz. burger and 4 oz. of cottage cheese. Bought one for home and one for travel.
  7. About to read a little. This food plan is more than a diet. OA involves reading, meetings, texts, etc. I'm trying to lay a smooth and strong foundation but not get overwhelmed. Have a whole life around it.

  1. You say this is a big change for you and it is. But it's not radical, turn on a dime, everything at once change. I've seen how, over the past years, you havewritten about introducing many more fruits and vegetables to your cooking and eating. You can do this, at least for a while. See how you feel. Look inward, and see if it makes you feel better.

    I write this early in the day after an unfortunate first day back from vacation and a huge chocolate bar no longer suitable to give as a gift. I can feel the sugar, and wish I didn't. So you go, and we're all rooting for you. It will be hard and it won't be perfect but it sounds like you've got support.

    1. Hi Nan. Thanks for the note! and Support! I tried to write back yesterday but my phone froze and I wasn't on my laptop. Thanks for telling me to look inward. So far I do feel better. And I certainly understand about the chocolate bar. Love, Alice
