There's something timeless and pure about watching a movie outdoors, your child huddled on your lap in a lawn chair. We saw "Moana." Great music and story; my favorite part was the sleeping goddess/big green island that comes to life, standing tall, to recapture her heart. So magical. Also loved the spunky, brave, can-do spirit of the young heroine and the beautiful bond with her grandmother. Made me nostalgic for our honeymoon trip to Maui 26 years back. Meanwhile, the fertile riches at the
Presby Memorial Iris Gardens looked gorgeous in the moonlight. A clutch of frilly, inky deep purples, mystical and potent, and a ruffly yellow, like a sunny and carefully hand-stitched bridesmaid's dress--stunning, one and all. Aloha. Thanks for the free movie night,
Montclair Film Festival.
