As I drove toward Stowe near dusk, I saw a deliciously thick cushion of clouds above the mountains. They looked so close and so touchable--like if you were on that mountain, you could press your fingertip into the spun softness or roll your ring finger around and make an indentation with the stone on your cocktail ring.
Tired after 7-hour drive. Sleep soon. Safe in Vermont. Happy to be here. Even though a bit worried to hear from Dan that Punchy has a belly ache.
Good night to you.

You are my hero... fearlessly taking long road trips all by yourself. I have no sense of direction whatsoever -- even with a GPS I can get very lost.
ReplyDeleteI am reminded of two uncles of mine, who after driving to within ten minutes of their destination (my mother's birthday party), they couldn't find the house so they turned around and went home.
Have a wonderful time in Vermont!
Love, Lin
Lin, I am flattered.
DeleteSiri has saved me. I think of my two grandmas, who never drove.
And that story about our dad turning the car around, so crazy.
Xoxo to you and CJ
