So glad you are feeling good, and the reduced sugar is having a payoff! I'm struggling myself, last night I wrestled an ice cream demon for a couple of hours. None in the house, thank goodness, finally settled for frozen blueberries with some mascarpone. Tasty, less sugar, but not ice cream and it didn't fill that place inside me I imagined the ice cream satisfying. Plus, hardly low calorie.
ReplyDeleteThe struggle is real.
Yes, #thestruggleisreal. My adult niece said that up in Maine over Christmas and I love that phrase. Blueberries and mascarpone sounds yum. And of course, the former helps our memory, so even better. Yes, I can see more clearly now without a sugar lens, but some of the things you see when you remove any substance are hard to bear/shoulder. Let it be, said the Beatles. Life is beautiful and ugly, at once. Soft and hard, easy and challenging. I don't know what your triggers are....I'm trying to crowd out refined sugar, white flour, etc......but I might allow myself to have one or two stellar ice cream cones per year! Can you allow yourself to have one? What happens if you do? Sending love and can't wait to see everyone Oct. 5! oxoxo Alice
