Riding the Waves

You might go out too deep, but you can stand in the ocean and paddle your arms and kick your legs to keep head above water when even daunting surfer-style waves come in.
You can coast gently up and over the crest.
Or be pulled under, unsteady on your feet, dragged into shore, Cape Cod pebbles churned up in the surf--and in your swimsuit.

I choose to stay afloat with dignity.

  • Whole Foods, gallon organic whole milk, local farm half and half in glass bottle with deposit, 2 cans Amy's black bean soup, frozen Indian entree, 2 frozen Amy's bowl entrees, Wasa crisps, sourdough bread, 365 brand granola, 2 tulip bouquets, one for my friend, plus latte [$3.73] and breakfast on a stop between yoga class and morning appointment, $68.37.
  • Marcel Bakery + Kitchen, Punch and I had dinner with Anne and her daughter Nikki! $29.
  • Marcel again, slice of chocolate mousse cake for girls to share, $6.
Total spent out of pocket: $68.37.
