Punchy is struggling with sixth grade math. A lot of material to cover in not much time--the "core curriculum." She is doing well in other classes but nearly drowning there.
Yesterday and today, her beloved "study skills" teacher, Ms. Fitz, was out because her child was ill. Punch was untethered. Ms. Fitz keeps her under her wing.
Now Punch is onto calculating the areas of triangles, parallelograms and trapezoids and seems to be getting more confident. Dan also found a high school sophomore, a math whiz, who comes over every Tuesday for an hour. She is very good. [She also needs to log community service hours as a member of the National Honor Society.]
