"Welcome in," from Asheville

When Nancy and I walked around Asheville yesterday afternoon, many shop owners greeted us with "Welcome in." Southern manners can be soothing. I liked Frock Boutique on Battery Park Avenue: pretty blue and white floral dress, delicate jewelry, muted colors (such as soft army green) that tend to look good on my skin tone We enjoyed the Woolworth Walk, a former Woolworth's store with many art stalls (jewelry, candles, paintings and more) and lunch counter and red stools still intact.

Our flight to Newark Airport starts boarding about 7 a.m. In case of glitches or delays, we woke up by 4:15 a.m., left on the hotel-to-airport shuttle by 5 and got here to AVL Airport in a few minutes.

Have to sign off, flight is boarding.

  1. Woof, early start, but happy you got there and flight left on time. Woolworths walking distance from my house, source of gifts and treats for years. The five and dime!
