Punch & me in the Mernin kitchen this morning, with Kelly. |
"Happy Birthday, Happy Birthday!" I said. "I love you."
She stood up on the sofa bed in her Hello Kitty top.
"Am I bigga?" She's heard so much about being a big girl now.
I love that little girl. After we dropped Fig off, we went over to Nikki's, and walked Nik to the bus stop with Anne and Kelly.
Soon after, H. drove Punch to the store for a new pair of shoes, and then dropped her back home.
And away we go, on with our lives, whether we're 6, 17, 52 or 55.
Paraphrased Irish blessing for Punch:
May the road rise with you
the wind be ever at your back
and may the Lord hold you in the hollow of His hand.
I have my worries.
Good night.
