Tomorrow We Leave the Cape

...and as usual, I'm dreading it. Hate leaving this natural beauty, the bike path, Hot Chocolate Sparrow, inky sky full of stars. Montclair is pretty but cannot compare,

As you know by now, I also hate sweeping and scrubbing this place before we leave. H. will bring everything to the town dump--they have a neatly organized recycling system that's pretty cool--and said he will scrub the bathroom. We always have gotten whatever girls are around--Figgy, Lulu, Punchy, Nik, Olivia--to help with the vacuuming and dusting/Windexing. My friend Anne wants to help but I said no. Her husband, Michael, made it up for the weekend!

We enjoyed the Wonderstrand Way block party this evening. They even grilled venison [some neighbors hunt and fish a lot] and I met a neighbor named Helen and her professor daughter Elizabeth [sp]. They brought delicious crinkled, crisp pickle slices made from cucumbers they grew here and potato salad made from their garden spuds! They want me to email the apple tart recipe and liked that I used heirloom Cape Cod apples.

Good night.

TCOY
1. Biked to Great Pond. Loved pedaling past still, peaceful blue ponds by the bike path,
2. Enjoying sandy late 1970s read left in house here--Wifey by Judy Blume. I'm surprised how steamy it is after Are You There God? It's Me Margaret, but it's a true page turner.
3. Took a pampering bubble bath and also used Beachy Moms brand Wellfleet Cranberry Seed and Grapefruit Sugar Scrub with oils in it. I love it. My next-door neighbor up here, Bridget, makes it. I just bought the jar from her tonight! Check beachymoms.org. B. said the cranberry is great for the skin.
4. Good dental care.
