Cape Cod, Here We Come

We left Montclair 7:30 p.m. and should arrive by 1 a.m. if the stars are in their courses.

Punch, Dan, Sug and I on board. Dan has to take bus home Tuesday but then Fig and Florida Orange flying in for the weekend. We five females then head home Monday, August 12.

I’m so happy to be diving into 10 days on my beloved Cape. 

Bags stuffed w groceries, towels, sheets, swimsuits, sunscreen--plus books, phone chargers, beauty products, shorts and sherbet-colored Lilly clothing. Our 2002 Toyota Camry is loaded up.

• Kings, two bottles Smart Water [rip-off, $2.99 each, since we forgot Punch’s 2 daily bottles for camp], plus pack of gum, $7.50.
• Kings, uncured bacon, giant red heirloom tomato, 5 ears corn to bring to Cape, 2 packs shredded cheese, beach candle and pretty beachy hand soap to bring, 5 containers dog food, good rye bread, $52.
• Subway at rest stop about 8:45 p.m., dinner for Punch and me, two sandwiches w vegs, small bag Miss Vickie’s jalapeño chips, cup chicken noodle soup for P. With tip, $19.
