Pain and Beauty

It occurred to me after so many striking sky views tonight...pain and beauty. Life is beautiful. Saw heartbreaking skies at the Wellfleet pier and the Audubon this evening w Fig, Florida 🍊 and Punch--so pretty, they could break your heart.
Shifting skies, brilliant brushstrokes, living art I would love to see every day. Healing skies. Golds, pinks, purples, blues, whites. Sunbeams and clouds, short-lived brooding grays. The rain fell elsewhere, not on us.
Anything is possible, these skies say.
But pain. Life can be painful, too. Feeling hurt, loss, sadness, great disappointment or disillusionment. Anger. Upset. People don’t always behave as you hope or wish they would. And neither do you.
Balancing the two...acknowledging the beauty--because how could you not?--but also the slow, low burn of pain.
It doesn’t vanish. You feel it and slog through it. But the beauty doesn’t vanish, either. It remains so close, you want to reach out and touch it.
Good night.
