Dinner in Owls Head

We drove through Lincolnville, Camden, Rockport to arrive at the beautiful home of our niece, Mariah, and her husband, Ian.

Ian is a lobsterman who grew up in Owls Head. A smart, salt-of-the-earth fellow, he heads out before dawn most mornings to haul traps with his crew. Mariah is a hardworking and gifted athlete and bank employee. Their home in the woods, not far from Owls Head Light, is so lovely. Mariah’s Dad (Dan’s brother Pat) BUILT it and Ian did finishing touches.

The airy home, with exposed wood beams, has plenty of windows to see the forest. It has open kitchen shelving, a farmhouse sink, a fully outfitted mud room with a place for everything and everything in its place. I would love to live there! Mariah has quite an eye for detail and design.

A delightful little chestnut-haired gitrl, she was one of three flower girls in our wedding. She was 7. Her little sister, Anna, and our niece Leah rounded out the group. So sweet.

Gratitude. Good night.

    1. Hi Liz. I will ask Mariah for a photo to post. Her Dad built at least three? beautiful houses from scratch. Sending love.
