Wines of Sardinia

Barbara and John had a great BBQ--capped with fireworks, even--and then Lesley and Vieri hosted a wonderful, elegant Wines of Sardinia tasting party. Vieri is from that region of Italy; his family is still there. Both events were so lovely, one with friends around a picnic table, the other with guests sipping three whites, five reds and two dessert wines by candlelight in chic rooms. We neighbors all lead separate lives, with work, family, triumphs and challenges. We are writers, executives, chefs, psychologists, gardeners, parents. We work at home, or in the city. But we women put on our dresses, the men their stylish shirts, and we come together for laughter and the clink of glasses as we pass the nights on Nassau Road.
