Figgy and I were:
TCOY
- up 5:30 A.M.. to drive to cash machine, pick up her friend Olivia and get free medium coffees at Quick Chek. [FREE COFFEE on Black Friday! the sign said. I got nice hot cocoa with whip--free!]. I'm a Starbucks snob, wouldn't normally consider QC, but it's right near the high school, so Fig and friends go there often at lunch and she loves the pumpkin-flavored coffee. I may venture there in the future. Couldn't believe DIY selection of milk and cream to add: soy milk; organic whole milk; lactose-free milk; cream; creamer; flavored creamer; and even whipped cream in a can. That takes it over the top.
- at Garden State Plaza in Paramus by official opening time of 7 A.M. though I heard now that JCPenney there was open @ 4 A.M.? Lot was pretty full @ 6:59.
- in that mall for five hours, count them, five. Olivia and I had a hard time extracting that passionate fashionista in the polka dot shirt and Santa-red sweats. I did find it fun and exhilarating, but of course had cap on $$ to spend.
- happy with the bargains we got. My favorite was spend $100 at Neiman Marcus and get $50 NM gift card. I used it to buy a nice Christmas gift for H. But Williams-Sonoma had some pretty deep discounts, too. I saw a man buying 12 tall jars of Organic Butternut Squash Puree, so I got two. He said his wife makes the soup on the label and it is so good. Regularly $12.95; on sale for $3.99.
TCOY
- Took big cup of ice water on drive to mall.
- Walked Sug around block once.
- Gave blood. I want to get back to making time for this. Today they told me you can safely give every two months.
- Saw Moey and Ted for dinner at our house.
For all the times that L needed lifesaving transfusions, thank you. Love, Linda
