Through the Forest, Light

When I step up, stand tall and face a dark forest--code word for a tough issue--it's not as scary as I thought it would be. It's really just trees, after all, in various stages of growth or decay. And hard acorns that hold hope but can trip you up underfoot. Tender, swaying seedlings, light filtering through the branches. There's nothing frightening about that. That's life, as Dad would say.
