Saw a few fun things in and around NYC today:
- A nice driver on the DeCamp bus.
- A second Crumbs Bake Shop on 42nd Street--in Times Square.
- A proud poodle in a coat on Madison Avenue.
- Pretty bright tulips outside the Carlyle Hotel.
- Cheery young moms pushing cute babies in strollers by the Plaza Hotel.
- The Waldorf Astoria, where my Aunt Edith worked during World War II.
- The wonderful wares at Dean & DeLuca on Madison: foie gras, chocolate cake, cheerfully wrapped Easter bread, Sacher torte, scones, sorbet, almond milk, cashew milk, country yogurts, marzipan, exquisite chocolates, rolls and cookies. Just looked, drank it in, but didn't buy.
- Vosges chocolate on Madison, where I nibbled a sample of Organic Peanut Butter Bonbon Bar and looked at cute Easter treats.
- A mom, dad, son and daughter all wearing red coats in Times Square, I guess so they could keep their eyes on each other, not get lost in the crowd.
- The windows at Bergdorf Goodman, with red and white velvet ropes, fancy shoes and formal dresses on Fifth Avenue and feather pillows [punctured, so feathers were strewn all over the display] on 57th Street.
TCOY
- Finally took care of some documents I had to get notarized, for Dad's estate.
- Walked two hours plus in NYC: from Port Authority to doctor's office on 85th and Madison, and back again.
- Kept my doctor's appt.; faced the music. Proud of that. Was tempted not to.
- Private Benjamin.
- Steamed broccoli and cauliflower to have with dinner.
