Putting in a [Spark] Plug for a Local Mechanic

Chris runs the 1st Stop Auto garage at the corner of Valley Road and Lorraine Avenue in Upper Montclair, right across from Veggie Heaven. I'm grateful for him. He has done many jobs for us--like replacing headlight bulbs and tires--that would have cost a lot more at the dealer. He worked for some of the big dealers in the past, so he knows his stuff, and he has a great personality.

In other words, I've found an honest mechanic.

I've written about car maintenance; it can be baffling and freeze us in our pumps [or loafers], because most of us don't understand everything under the hood. Today I rolled up to the garage because both of my lights died last night after I accidentally left them on briefly while grocery shopping. I drove home from the Reichl/Bittman simulcast talk with every other driver blinking their beams at me. Thank goodness it was a short ride home. So unsafe.

I'm glad someone in my life is giving me a smoother ride. Phone: 973.744.9376.

Good night.

TCOY
  1. Boot camp in the park. I had gone back to sleep for 30 minutes and really didn't want to get up and go when my alarm went off again at 9 A.M. But I did. Also thankful that Patsy called to see if I needed a ride. It was a hard workout but I'm proud that I went.
  2. Bought quinoa--cooked quinoa! I tossed it warm with steamed cauliflower, toasted walnuts, olive oil, fresh chopped mint, sliced scallions and sunny squeezed lemon juice. It was REALLY GOOD. H. and Figgy liked it too, with broiled salmon on the side. It was very filling.
  3. Walked fluffy dust mop around the block once.
  4. Short nap.
  5. Shower.
  6. Taking care of business, inch by inch, step by step, day by day.
