Rolling: Titanic 3D, Best Movie Ever Made

Even more unforgettable in 3D.

Fig is a "Titanic" lover. She's watched the movie a bazillion times. Tonight H. and I took her and her friend to see it in 3D. I knew I loved this blockbuster too, but to see it again on the big screen in all its glory and power was amazing. The history. The clothing. The attitudes. The socialites. The look at a woman's options. The lush young Rose and the old crepey Rose. The furnishings and formalities. The Celine Dion song, sweeping us all in, up and overboard, like a giant tidal wave. James Cameron is a god. I've never seen a movie I loved more.

With our 3D glasses, H. and I noticed many more details up-close. He spotted little English crowns on the beer glasses and that the cigarettes were hand-rolled. I could almost touch the rich textures and fabrics of Rose's dresses and saw the yoke of the older Rose's white nightgown in more detail and I felt like I was in one of the lifeboats. Gripping. Loved it.

Still very sad about a painful new twist in my life [can't get into it here] but doing my best to work through it one day @ a time. What else can I do. I feel like Eeyore reporting on so many dark clouds, but don't know how not to. Good night, Happy Passover and Happy Easter.

TCOY
  1. Sought support. Scary in some ways, but sought it. Standing at bottom of mountain: Can I make it up? Is it even possible? The path looks treacherous from here.
  2. Sis and Don came to visit, and I made nice Irish coffee and lunch, then Sis and I drove to the cemetery. We brought daffodils and stood at our parents' grave and cried, holding onto each other. I don't know how this is TCOY, since it is sad and painful, but I know that it is. Making time to honor and miss Dad and feel our feelings.
  3. Short rest.
  4. Movie!
