That's the cover of the August/September issue @ top, and I wrote "Suburban Renewal" about a very talented designer who came from Japan "with a dictionary and a suitcase"--and a beautiful aesthetic sense. I interviewed Satomi at the neighborhood Starbucks. She's a Montclair mom, like me. In the virtual issue at Asp1re Magazine's website, my article about Hidden Acres Estate is on page 50. Thanks for caring, and for reading.
Good night.
TCOY
- Rode my bike to support group and back. Happy to have pedaled, and reached my destination, which is truly TCOY. Want to try to bike every day, even if it's short, because the Battle Against Hunger Bike Ride is fast approaching [September 8]. This year, Figgy is joining our pod! If you would like to make a pledge in any amount, please visit www.battleagainsthunger.org and click the "Support a Rider" tab. All money goes directly to the local soup kitchen. Thank you.
- My friend Lisa saw me getting on my bike to pedal back and invited me in for excellent coffee with frothed milk and a nice long chat.
- Weeded around the sunflowers and dahlias.
- Nap.
- Drinks and dinner and fun chat with neighbors on their deck.
- H. and Fig out, so enjoying my "Breakfast at Tiffany's" DVD, my forever favorite movie.
Thanks for sharing this... as usual, I hate my house after looking through an issue of this magazine. Loved your pieces in it, Alice. Love, Lin
ReplyDeleteHi Lin...but your house is so nice! I know what you mean, though. But instead of house hate, I try and adopt one thing I can do in my humble abode....like put flowers in the bathroom or clean my kitchen countertops so at least they shine...thank you for reading my pieces...love, alice xoxo
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the article - I know exactly what Linda means by house envy! It was so lovely catching up with you on Saturday.
ReplyDeleteLisa, it was so great to see you and your family....what a treat. love alice
