Sis and Don arrived today after spending the weekend in Newport, Rhode Island at the Jazz Festival.
It's so good to see my sister.
We lay down side by side on top of the bed, talking. She's wearing the Lilly Pulitzer shirt she bought in Chatham with me in the fall. Her auburn hair looks pretty. She took us all out to dinner, and then she and I walked Sug at Nauset Light Beach. It was so beautiful at sunset. Someone was fishing in the ocean. Families and friends sat around campfires. The lighthouse beam swept the beach. We remembered Dad and shared funny stories about him, things he said. We both miss him something fierce. It's like a wound that still stings and burns, but talking to each other about him is kind of a salve. He gave us a lifetime of attention and love. He cared about us so much.
I am grateful for my Sis.
And: She brought wildlife luck. While she popped in to see our older friends Rite and Bob near dusk to set up a time we can see them tomorrow [their phone was off the hook], a spry, wry, faintly orange fox with a long, bushy tail ran toward the backyard. He looked weathered, lean and hungry. Sug saw him through the car window and gave him a piece of her mind.
Only one more full day and night here. We head home on Wednesday. Good night from these sandy shores.

- Did the laundry @ Orleans Coin-A-Matic this morning and it felt good to get it done--and have clean clothes..
- The more I feel my feelings, the more I realize when I'm full, and don't overeat. But sitting with ugly, painful feelings hurts deeply, which is why food became such a security blanket.
- Afternoon nap.
- About to take nice shower with Caress.
