Go on Green

Figgy did the chalkboard and babysat a group of kids at the party. [One of my favorite Irish proverbs on the board: What butter or whiskey does not cure cannot be cured.] She was wearing a bright green blouse.
Lesley and Vieri and their son, Angelo, flung open their door for their Saint Patrick's Day open house. Festive, fun and Irish, from apothecary jars full of green candies to heaps of sparkly shamrock necklaces, stickers and bracelets. Corned beef on rye, hot pans of cabbage, Cheddar mashed potatoes, carrots. A kids' table with tender chicken fingers [I know because I snatched some], cheese cubes with the Irish flag on a toothpick in each, holiday desserts like chocolate cake with whiskey, grass-colored Rice Krispies treats, green-frosting-filled whoopie pies...little chocolate cake and kelly-green frosting shooters.

Tons of good beer on ice...I don't like beer, but most everyone else does, Irish or not. Good night to you.

TCOY
  1. Support group. I returned home peaceful but was quickly over the edge due to someone or two someones' behavior.
  2. Lots of ice water.
