Princeton, Farm to Table

Agricola has community tables and private ones. Lin and Don had a great mushroom, sunny-side-up egg and grits dish scooped into shallow bowls. The cappuccino was also excellent.
Today, Sis and Don drove from Connecticut to Montclair, and then the three of us motored 1 hour+ [mostly on Route 1 South] to Princeton to meet our cousin Linda for lunch, since it's midway between us.

We went for the first time to Agricola, open for about 1 1/2 years. It was farm-fresh and tantalizing*, from the chilled English pea soup, rustic bread and perfect olive oil for dipping to the triple-layer chocolate cake with pepper icing [yes, a sprinkling of black pepper in it]. Best of all, I got to chat with Sis on the ride there and back, and to catch up with our dear Linda, who lost her sister this year. I looked up to the sky to our Judi.

Nice to park in Princeton parking garage vs. NYC: Just $3.75 total for a few hours. We also popped into colorful Kate Spade and Lilly Pulitzer stores.

Good night.

*The red flannel hash had too many beets for Sis, and my reuben was a bit too farmy for me, what with sliced vegetables, but I would still run back to this place in a minute. Wish I lived closer to it.

TCOY
  1. Seeing Lin.
  2. Ice water.
  3. Rested and read when I got home.

  1. I appreciate having my Garbarini-girl cousins with me now, more than I can ever say. Plus, $3.75 for a whole afternoon of parking… I couldn’t believe what I was seeing when the amount came up on the pay station kiosk! I want to go back to Agricola, too. Love, Lin
