Slow Death by Chocolate

I thought I started out well today, with a bowl of Cream of Wheat, but then I scattered a few Valrhona dark chocolate chips on top, along with toasty pecans.

Later, I had a small [under 1-ounce] bar of dark chocolate with sea salt.

Later still, just the frosting cap off a chocolate-peanut butter cupcake from Two Little Red Hens Bakery, which I'd love to visit. For today, I found the cupcake for $5 [pricey] at Dean & DeLuca, across from the Port Authority Bus Terminal.

Enough already!!!! I have to get my choices under control. At least I did resist the plump chocolate babka at Dean & DeLuca. And that did look out of this world. Punch will like it, I thought. But then: Put it back. It gives a pretty reasonable calorie count for 1/12 of the loaf, but you will easily polish off 1/6 at each sitting.

Good night.

TCOY
  1. Walked about 1 hour in NYC.
  2. Dan made us a platter of his homegrown tomatoes and basil with fresh mozzarella and a drizzle of olive oil for dinner.
  3. Writing this post about chocolate to be self-aware and help myself navigate more healthfully through life's chocolate choices. I see I could have skipped the breakfast dose.
