Connecticut

Greenwich Point

Closed at sunset and that's when we arrived. Auntie and Punch flank the signs.
Since H. is away in California and Figgy is back in NYC, I scooped Punch and Sug and drove to Stamford, CT to visit Sis and Don for an overnight. I love to visit them but this time the getaway was stressful for several reasons:
  • Sugar barked and barked a lot of the way to CT yesterday afternoon [she's usually quiet on a car ride]. No rest stops in sight, so I finally had to pull over on a busy highway, put my flashers on, climb out the passenger side and let her tinkle. But the roads were salted so then she started to limp and lick her paw. Ya can't win.
  • Punch's behavior was trying yesterday and today.
  • One of my pretty new Tory Burch pearl-trimmed mittens that H. got me for Christmas has gone missing. I think Punch hid it at Sis's when she was playing detective and this makes me angry. Very. It was not recovered.
  • Punch and Sug both woke me up last night to go to the bathroom, one of them needing me to take her out in the snow. Tiring.
  • I just saw a candid shot Punch took of me with my iPhone. Omigosh, I look AWFUL, head to toe.
But I did make it into the Tory Burch store on Greenwich Avenue at 4:45 [they closed at 5] and got a stylish leather wrap bracelet ON SALE. Even popping in briefly gave me enough time to see some of the great new shoes in person vs. online, spritz on the Tory scent, flip quickly through the sale bays.

I love my sister and am grateful she puts up with very fallible me and my traveling three-ring circus.

Good night.

TCOY
  1. Mass with Sis and Punch at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Really liked the ship models on display in the coffee room, and the crucifix covered with seashells. Evocative. Liked the music at Mass, too.
  2. It was fun [though freezing] to watch Punch zip down a giant hill on the little red sled we brought from home.
  3. Watched ME TV, a cable channel Sis and Don have but we don't. It has old 70s shows like "The Love Boat" and "That Girl." Love it.
