Pizza & a Movie

Figgy is babysitting again tonight, H. is making some progress on his writer's block and impending deadline and may be home soon after 8. Punchy, whose standing Friday evening appointment was cancelled, had a two-hour play date with neighbor Magnolia [greatest name ever!].

Now, left to our own devices, we ordered a pizza and garlic knots with sauce from Villa Victoria on Park Street in Montclair...I got the large disk half plain, half with spinach and ricotta...Punchy and I are trying to decide on a movie OnDemand right now.

So far, she is leaning toward things about talking dogs [not animated]. And the winner is: "Rescue Dogs." My very exciting Friday night. It's ok, I like knowing Punch is safe at home and the rest of my family is safe, too. I much prefer this to the teenage years of fretting--about illegal substances, raging hormones, broken hearts, risky behavior, unsafe driving or tenuous friendships.

3. Read a Giada cookbook I bought at Scholastic Book Fair at school last night. I have been trying to avoid buying cookbooks, but since it was a school fundraiser...I love it. Found several recipes I want to make, starting with butternut squash soup. I've made it several times but always happy to try another version. I also want to make biscotti, though they contain sugar. It is a lot less sugar than most cookies but.........
