Christmas Cheer

it was rainy, so my photo is blurry. But the house looked so pretty inside and out. The family’s annual holiday party traditions were in place, from the fire crackling in the hearth to the outdoor wreaths to:

  • Hostess, Susan, and her mother, Alice, two gracious, beautiful Swiss Misses [Switzerland] in festive clothing. Alice’s floor-length green Christmas skirt, Susan’s pretty black halter dress with sparkly sandals. Alice is 91. I’m going to start talking to her this week--have been enlisted/hired to write her life story, as I wrote Anthony’s, which is finally in print. I had a hard time figuring out the self-publishing app but finally did my best. [You can search Alice Garbarini Hurley on google and the book will come up. It’s called Fly Me to the Moon: One Man’s Journey Around Two Worlds.]
  • The classic delicious foods, including cheese boards, spiral-cut ham, homemade quiche. Lots of wine.
  • Desserts, and I had some modest tastes. I loved the tiny hand-cut star butter cookies piled on a plate.
  • Colorful guests; this year Dan and I liked talking to a handsome, friendly man named Craig [sp], who grew up in the Midwest, studied biology, worked as a trader.

I have to go to sleep! Gnite.
