Back in Montclair, w Shake Stop in NYC

The famous ShackBurger, my early dinner on way home through Grand Central Station.
Fries? Resisted.
Settling back in.

TCOY
  1. Had healthy breakfast and lunch at Sis's, including eggs scrambled w mushrooms; yogurt with berries; tuna on rye.
  2. Applied for another job.
  3. Walked across town from Grand Central to Port--instead of taking subway. But hot as hell.
  4. Going to bed early for 7 a.m. support group.
  5. Planning to get some nutritious groceries tomorrow.
  6. Watched season finale of season 2 "Big Little Lies," streaming on my laptop via HBO.com. So.Good.
$ MONEY SPENT OUT OF POCKET
  • MetroNorth train ticket, off-peak, Stamford to NYC, $11.50.
  • Fritos bought at train station, threw some out, $1.90.
  • Shake Shack in Grand Central on Dining Concourse, small cheeseburger and chocolate shake, which, in my defense, happened to be fairly short, not towering,  $12.28. [Calories were listed for all five flavors: vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, cookies & cream and salted caramel--I chose one of the lower counts, but still in the 600s, I think.]
  • DeCamp, bus ticket back to Montclair, $7.65.

RUNNING TOTAL FOR MONTH AS OF JULY 22 [AND STARTING JULY 5]: $1,048.
AVERAGE DAILY SPEND SO FAR: $58.22.

  1. What a coincidence. My office does a "walking challenge" every year. With the heat, we are all sick of it! So yesterday, my teammates and I motivated ourselves by walking to a Shake Shack to get milkshakes. I got a coffee one, which was delicious, but yes, I couldn't believe it had more than 600 calories. :O
