Every Little Bottle Helps

I love stores like Pure Vita Cape Cod (in Eastham) and Moss & More (in Montclair) that refill glass spray bottles with liquid hand soap, liquid dish soap, natural all purpose-household cleaning sprays....

If it prevents me from buying some plastic bottles, I'm good with that. I hate the idea that our garbage is just piling up in landfills....as you've heard, China ran out of room for our disposables.

But then of course, Dan is about saving money, and that is a good thing, too. So I turn my back and he has gone and gotten a jumbo Softsoap refill bottle. A giant hunk of plastic. I mean sure, we have recyclables picked up every Tuesday--one bin for paper, one for glass/metal/plastic--but where is the plastic going these days? Glass and metal much better, I gather.

I was doubtful at first that this dish soap from Moss & More would cut grease....but it does. Today I took the clear glass bottle into the shop and got my refill.

One step forward for helping the earth, tho of course a bottle of Dawn is much more economical. I still feel good about this step.

Good night. Sleep well.
