Home by 11 pm, Not with Sunshine in My Pocket

"Re-entry is hard," my friend Anne says about returning from vacation to everyday life.

Yes, it is. We unpacked every item from our crammed trunk, everyone pitching in--damp beach towels, groceries, Wellfleet blend coffee beans, sunscreen, sheets, shampoo, rocks P collected at Nauset Light Beach, sweatshirts, bike helmets, books, 2 refillable bottles of Pure Vita Cape Cod cleaning spray, 3 pair sneakers--and the cheery little jar of Cape Cod sea salt that gave my lobster and cod pasta sauce just the right flourish.

We found beauty on the Cape. It’s hard to miss it. Gentle breezes, pond swims, ocean dips, Audubon peace, Chatham’s sweeping vista, with sand bars and swaying sea grass. Wellfleet harbor, Coast Guard Beach, clear star views, lighthouse beans. Oysters, kale salad, local scallops.

But the last two days were ugly, nightmarish, painful w Punch. It was very hard to handle. I am losing heart.

We have an online appt at 11 tomorrow to move toward getting therapy in place. (Red tape, bureaucracy, complications from providing therapy during Covid--and we were away on vacation.)

Prayers for peace in this family.

Good nite.
