And this brings me back to my friend Kim*--remember you had to interview--was it Joan Lunden--and touched on her upcoming seat on the "Today Show" couch?
Good night.
*Kim and I met at our first job in the early 1980s.
An ongoing quest for the meaning of life. Does true happiness exist in a Tory Burch turquoise-trimmed sheath, a MarieBelle Dark Chocolate Croquette bar, a rose garden, a rocky Maine beach, a daughter's eyes, an inky star-sprinkled sky, hours of computer keystrokes that tell a story--or all of the above?
So glad you are writing!
ReplyDeleteNan, thank you for being such a loyal reader. I am glad to be writing, too, as it helps me process my life. LOVE Alice
DeleteHey Alice, no, not Joan Lunden, but I interviewed Genie Francis, the famed "Laura" of Luke and Laura (in its 1980s heyday) of General Hospital. I actually interviewed her in her UWS home for a soap opera mag, so that was cool! I did do some quickie one-question interviews at Woman's Day--mostly fielded stuff from PR agents, but I did get Debbie Reynolds on the phone--cannot remember what the Q&A even was! So fun to have brushes with celebrity in our work!
ReplyDeleteSo cool!!!! Laura! I didn’t watch General Hospital, but I remember the commuter lounge at college, where all the commuters hung out between classes. I wandered in, I think, on the day of L & L’s wedding and could not believe the huge crowd! :)
