The city is our close sister, in the same county as Montclair (Essex County). But until now, it was
- A place where my Dad worked as a chemist at a kind of run-on-a-shoestring chemical company when I was in high school.
- The city where a former boyfriend lived.
- Our county seat for jury duty.
- The pivoting point for child custody hearings (when Skippy was a baby).
- The area where cherry blossoms bloom in the park.
Now, we have reason to be there often. I’ve learned how to use the mobile parking app; to appreciate the beauty and history of so many old churches; to admire the Rutgers Newark Business School, Law School and other campuses.
And the airport drive is old hat to me now. Today, Skip and I picked up Sis when she winged back from Florida.
I like Newark.
I like Newark, too. Some day I want to have a great Portuguese meal there. I wouldn't know where to begin, but it would be fun to figure it out!
ReplyDeleteHi MTM. Yes, the Ironbound District is great for that...maybe we can meet up. I’ve only been there a couple times, but....sending a hug.
