30 Years of Cheesecake

Moey turned 50 today. I have been making her simple cheesecake pies or full-fledged rich cheesecakes almost every year for her birthday since college. Today, for the first time, I made the cheesecake out of Nora Ephron's wonderful book, Heartburn. This recipe is a keeper. You bake it in a pie plate, but it's rich and creamy--and pie seems too humble a word to describe it. Yet it's so quick to make. I can post the recipe if you want.

Moey, happy birthday, and many, many more. May the year be good to you. Smooth and rich and just what you want.

Good night.

  1. Boot camp in the park.
  2. Ice water.
  3. Late lunch, 4 P.M. Rushed in to grab slice of pizza. Stared down chicken parm slice and got veggie topping instead.

  1. Would love to see recipe. I have Heartburn somewhere, but God knows where! I love books that have recipes like Water for Chocolate and Ruth Reichl's memoirs!

  3. Hi Kim and Lin. Just posted it. Hope you like it! It looks humble coming out of the oven at first but then with the topping and the chilling it is awesome. love alice
