Today Fig wrote an essay about Edgar Allan Poe and I started to write a mystery. |
I started to write a book today--a novel. A mystery. I wrote two sentences. From there, I will go on.
I also got another kind of big article assignment. The trick is always to do my regular [paying] work and stick to a book I start. Wish me luck. This time I really want to follow through.
Good night.
TCOY
- Boot camp in the park.
- Walked Sug around block once and with Barbara and Benz once.
- Good tooth care.
- Made world's best hot mocha. Used Lake Champlain Chocolates Mocha Hot Chocolate. I had it in my cupboard, and at the chocolate media tour Saturday, we were served big white Alice-in-Wonderland-size cups of the company's cocoa. I chose the traditional but most everyone else had the mocha, and it looked so inviting. Today, I made it with 1 percent milk but drizzled a little organic heavy cream on top. Absolutely divine, and much more economical than Starbucks.
- Made quiche with half whole-grain flour in crust, lots of broccoli in filling and low proportion of cream to low-fat milk.
Yay! Two sentences! All glory DOES come from daring to begin. Go, Alice and good luck! I plan to pester you regularly about how it's going. Love, Linda
ReplyDeleteTerrific!!! I am finding that 1/2 hour in the morning as I sip coffee and 1/2 hour before dinner after paying work done is a good minimum book writing schedule. So exciting!
ReplyDeleteOh, and I have also abandoned cream completely in my quiches to very fine results; I've never tried whole-grain flour though--must check that out!
Hi Lin and Kim. Thanks for the good notes and kick in the pants. Kim, I like that tip re. 1/2 hr twice a day.....love, alice
