Turns out can't completely put one's worry guard down, as a parent, even on a short getaway to a pretty inn in the coastal village of Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Some troubles and trials follow you, sneak into your suitcase, into your suite, even if you hoped to leave them behind in a puff of ocean air and sunshine. I'm sure there's a lesson to be learned in all this. And I think that lesson is that together time also provides the space and safety for growing, whether that stretching is positive or painful. It's growing all the same.

1. Oatmeal brûlée with figs and bananas!!! I sure will miss those talented chefs cooking for me/us.
2. Lovely Harvest Detox Wrap treatment at OH! Spa, finished with Fig body butter. We treated Figgy to the Harvest Honey Wrap, too, as a big part of her Christmas gift. Wow, I see I just used the word/root Fig three times.
3. Lots of iced cucumber water in spa.
4. Talking rather than hiding.
5. Breathing in sea air.
