Super Movies Plays New York

H. and I drove to Ludlow Street on the Lower East Side of Manhattan to watch Super Movies play at The Living Room at 4 P.M. We've known Nick, who writes all the songs, since Figgy was in middle school. I remember him playing guitar years back. Marc [the drummer] is Fig's boyfriend, and Sebastian is their other friend. They were really good and the venue was cool. I like these young men--and their songs. And as always, I loved to be in New York.

Figgy is on a road trip with her girlfriends....H., who was in a band called The Mutations in college, was all about seeing Super Movies in action. Me too. As Fig recently wrote on a custom T-shirt her friend ordered, BE YOUNG. BE DOPE. BE PROUD. These young people inspire me with their dream-chasing work, dedication--and talent.

Moe & Tom played after Super Movies. They were also excellent.

4. After we ate dinner, I popped into a cute clothing boutique called Mint Julep, on Ludlow Street. They also have locations in Brookline and Cambridge, MA and the West Village. Bought a cute top on sale, and we also found a stylish graduation card there for Figgy.
