Carving out Writing Time

Okay, so maybe if I write it here, I will be more likely to stick to it. I've been struggling to guard my writing/work time during the days. It's been especially hard since Punch arrived August 17. Seems if I have a free hour, I want to recharge with reading and a nap. Have been faced with a lot of lengthy appointments for her [medical, school-related, child protective services, etc.]. Here goes. It's a start. Wish I had my blue tights for good luck, but they haven't arrived yet.

7:50 A.M.   Alarm goes off. Read a bit of important book. Brush and floss teeth. Use mouthwash. Get boot camp clothes on. Write Scholastic Book Fair check for Punch to take in backpack. Meanwhile, corral her to get dressed, and not forget her underwear this time.
8:30 Down in kitchen. Pack Punch's snack. Give her breakfast. Brush her hair against her will. If lucky, put it back in ponytail.
8:45 Leave for school bus. Bring Sugar.
9  Return home. Put laptop in office. Gather Anthony notes and put on desk. Eat a piece of sesame sprouted-grain toast with a little butter and a glass of ice water and maybe a part-skim mozzarella stick.
9:20 Leave for boot camp.
9:30 to 10:30 Boot camp class.
10:45 Drive home after chatting.
11  Take hot bath or shower. Get dressed, accessorize. Wear nice outfit and good shoes. Put earrings on for first time in weeks. Accessorizing is empowering. Have snack, maybe fruit if can manage it.
Noon Bring large glass of ice water into office. Sit at desk and work; review start of Anthony's life story, the part I wrote already, and then plunge ahead. Or plod, or shuffle. Or zip, glide or coast.
1 P.M. Eat lunch. Leftover turkey meatloaf and carrots? Iced coffee? Yogurt? Figure out ingredients needed for baking for friends' party.
1:15 Leave for salon blow-dry. After salon, get ingredients at grocery store on way home. Also get cheese so can make Punch grilled cheese for dinner. Avoid bakeries.
2:45 Back at desk again. Work on book until 4:30.
4:30 Head into kitchen. Put radio or iTunes on. Bake cookies and cake. Cake first, because it's more complicated. In the middle of this, H. gets home with Punch. She can help me measure and bake. She will also need dinner. Make it.
7 P.M. Elaine arrives to watch Punch. H. and I go out to dinner and/or movie.

Ok, that's helpful. Thanks for bearing with me. Good night.
