So Much I Want to Write

But the effort to change--to push away boulders with all your might, to feel rough feelings without crumbling inside--takes a lot of energy and so does parenting the first grader. Fortunately, we're both drifting to sleep smelling like a floral bubble bath [mine at 12:45 p.m., hers at 8:30 p.m.].

To make a long story short, I've been going to bed, exhausted, by 10:15 or 10:30 every night, rather than stay up and do long blog posts. But that's about to change--I want [once again] to reorganize my office and my life.

  1. Sleep is so important. So is exercise. And so is expressing yourself, and processing things with words. I salute you for seeking that balance, and trying to structure things to facilitate it rather than hinder it.

  3. I agree. It's all important and sometimes it all seems impossible. Just being mindful of it all without being frustrated when something (or things) take a back seat at times is half the battle. My goal is making sure the back seat doesn't become the forgotten seat...
