Sometimes things are off-kilter. I fit in the grocery shopping and a walk but then eat a readymade sandwich for dinner. Or I get Punchy to take her shower but postpone mine until the morning [like tonight]. I nurse a cold but then fall behind on work deadlines that seem to be getting more and more frequent. I brush and floss my teeth, even scrub the toilet, but cheat the dog out of long walks she loves. I water the daisies but don't empty the compost or weed the backyard. There are only so many hours in a day.
I'm doing my best to manage my life. I hope tomorrow runs smoothly.
Good night.
I hear you big time on the out-of-balance, can't do it all.
ReplyDeleteI always feel like I'm balancing on a big ball that is about to tip over, trying to stay on top, but I've given up on balance. There will always be something undone. Personally, I've allowed housekeeping to suffer as a result. And I find the walks - usually with a dog or two - actually does give me the energy to do the other things.
But I hope the more frequent deadlines reflects more and better work!
Hang in there, it's amazing how the important stuff seems to get done, though what is important shifts.
Nan
Hi Nan. Thank you for checking in and for your insights. Yes, a ball to balance, and yes, more work for now, which requires less slacking off and more of a need to eat healthfully so I don't sabotage myself and end up on the couch! I hope your girl is doing well this year! Thanks again, Nan. Love, Alice
