Chatham Bars, Holly Berries & a Whale's Tail!

It's a treat to be w Sis and Don on the Cape. She is so funny and smart.

Saturday snaps:

We thought this was a seal from afar on Nauset Light Beach but it was a rock. But we saw a big black whale!!! cavorting near two surfers.

Punchy with her baby, Rosetta.

The little white light in Chatham.

Cold, blustery day. Auntie and Punchy with Baby Rosetta in her pink carrier. You can see a Chatham sand bar behind them.

One of the prettiest beaches anywhere, in Chatham.

What I don't have snaps of:
  1. Our adorable dogs, who went to the beach w us.
  2. Happy, the tiny dog whose owner we chatted with.
  3. The Holly Berry Bazaar at  Nauset Regional Middle School. We bought beach plum jam, a lavender neck pillow, spice mix, brownies, a Limoges platter from the Attic Treasures room, a fake engagement ring for Punchy and more, all to benefit Cape Cod Hospital. All the Ladies' Auxiliary members were wearing great red holiday sweaters. So spirited. In the mood for Christmas!
  4. The In the Pink Lilly Pulitzer store in Chatham. I bought a tall beverage cup, all pink and gold, hand wash only.
  5. The Chatham Candy Manor, with its pink awning. Punch picked 2 treats. I got some dark nonpareils packed in the signature pale pink box.
  6. Our cozy beds w white bedding in the Nauset Suite in the Four Points Sheraton. Soooo plumped up and comfy.
  7. The Hot Chocolate Sparrow. Got an excellent large iced coffee and some Sparrow Blend coffee for gifts. Smells heavenly.
  8. The beautiful sky.
  9. The way it felt to stand on the lookout above the Chatham beach and just breathe and contemplate. To drink in the view of that untamed natural beauty.
  10. Passed cranberry bogs again on the drive through Harwich and Chatham.
TCOY
  1. Good dental care.
  2. Quiet contemplation in small pockets of time.
  3. Nice hot shower.
  4. Had half an apple, ice water.
  5. We are all upset about our new President--Sis especially. We have been talking through these feelings. It's a very weird limbo to be in. Life as we knew it may be severely threatened and we don't have a leader we like, let alone respect. We can't tolerate a leader who doesn't honor our principles of democracy and embrace our hard-won liberties.

  1. Great pictures, Alice. I'm glad you and Sis had a chance to get away.
