Safe Home at Cape

We wanted to leave by 1 but by the time Dan mowed the lawn, I went to Mass w Punch, we packed up all our groceries, sheets, towels, sunscreen, laptops, dog food, just-picked tomatoes [the deer had resisted], ukulele, swimsuits, ocarina, his copy of Moby Dick and mine of Thoreau's Cape Cod, and my primarily pink, turquoise and black wardrobe, it was 4:40 p.m. [We left Montclair about 4:10 and had to circle back because we forgot the EZ Pass.] So glad we have arrived. The stars look beautiful. I will be here 15 nights! I haven't been here that long since I don't know when. Dan staying a week or a bit more, then back home to work, then Sis and her doggy, Butter, drive up to join us a few days later and stay four nights. Figgy holding down the fort, finishing chemistry and history classes and working; she may come next week. Good night.

  4. Alice, I've been reading your blog since your "Coastal Living" article. We are Cape soul-sisters! So glad you are here at your favorite place. I've been here since June 14th and leave on August 14.

You would love a new bakery here in Yarmouthport. It's called the Happy Fish Bakery & it's on 6A. Divine little French bakery that makes the most decadent, buttery, flaky almond croissants. They also make their own breads which are excellent. The bakery is only open Thursday-Sunday and they usually sell out of the croissants by noon. Check it out.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
