Lazy. Resting. Reading Mary Higgins Clark. But if Dan and I read/nap, we let Punch watch 'Supergirl' show on a phone. Too much screen time not good. Then long walk at Audubon, my heaven. Photos below from our journey, 5 to 7 p.m. Punch has a good heart but has been giving us a run for our money the last couple days. Good night.
TCOY
- Good mileage on Fitbit.
- Dan made veggie stir-fry and Punch made chicken for dinner.
- Reading, resting.
- Some blueberries.
- Filled my soul with that Wellfleet beauty. Unsurpassed. And while walking and listening, amidst green marsh grass and under painterly sky, I thought it would be good to have a job, a job with benefits and paid vacation, a desk and coworkers I can leave and return to. How do I put this? It occurred to me that I miss vacation being a precious break from work. If it's too free and taken for granted, it can lose its shine and feel rambling. Also, as a freelancer, I have had to work for part of my vacation time lately. I remembered in the marsh the days that I had staff jobs I could leave behind for a week or two, and focus on my family. This insight was important.
