I may be wrapping up now, but that doesn't mean I didn't take breaks. I worked from about 9 am til now with interruptions to:
- See Figgy's latest moss drawings, so lovely. She showed me her notebook in the kitchen.
- Brew, pour and drink two coffees with whole milk.
- Let the plumber in to fix our stalled garbage disposal. The dishwasher was overflowing onto the kitchen floor. Fun. And caused by: My Flavahan's Irish steel-cut oats. I spilled a fair amount of the hard nuggets, uncooked, into the sink and they blocked the mechanism.
- Watch the season premiere of "This Is Us," which aired last night.
- Eat the other half of the luscious small chicken pie from The Pie Store.
- Tell Punch to put her helmet on! She was in the street on a skateboard with the boy next door, who was also on a skateboard or scooter. With his helmet.
- Prod Punch to do her homework.
- Take an Uber with her to her weekly 4:15 pm Private Benjamin appt.
- Go to dinner at Marcel Bakery & Kitchen in town with her. Sit and break bread together. As usual, she loved what I got--the grilled shrimp over salad, pita on the side. So good. I shared. So did she.
- Walk back home--a good 25 minutes for me. Punch peeled off on another road to see some friends [3 nice boys] several streets over and then walk home before dark.
- Talk to Sis. Figgy met her in NYC for a planned jaunt to The Museum of Natural History. Love that--wish I could have joined. I love, tho, that godmother and girl meet up and have a special bond. They are both kind, smart scientists--and both have the red hair gene, though you would never know it now, since Fig changes her hair color so often.

Alice, how did you like "This is Us"?
ReplyDeleteHmmmm....I love that show. It is practically the only show I watch, except for "Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" and my old baby-food shows on MeTV, which I adore when I get the chance to watch them--and control the remote ("Green Acres," "Brady Bunch," "Andy Griffith," etc.) Regarding this first episode of the new season, for which I was eagerly awaiting, I was not enthralled. Were you? Too long a story arc, took too long to figure out the connections to the Pearson family, you know? Especially the marine. Does she know Uncle Nicky? Is she his daughter? Or is it a coincidence that they both have serious PTSD after war?
DeleteI was very confused, although I was enjoying myself as I tried to figure out what was happening. My guesses were completely wrong.
DeleteThe Marine was the weakest of the three links, I thought. LOVED Jack and LOVED the young African American boy.
Amazing article, keep sharing such informative articles. :-) Buy Zopiclone
