I scrambled today....IDK why, because I was home-based, not catching the 7:29 am bus to New York.
I slept later, watched the last half-hour of black-and-white "Perry Mason," which I love, while having coffee. I took a shower, but didn't build in enough time for makeup and hair.
I didn't feel nearly as put-together as I do when in the office.
But my style luck changed.....after a noon therapy appointment, I walked over to Walnut Street, a street I miss, since I've had less time to meander around town. I decided to eat lunch at Le Salbuen but to first walk around the corner and peek into the cafe owner's stylishly edited Le Willow 83, a small boutique at 83 North Willow Street. Everything was on sale, 40 percent off. If you eat at the cafe, you get another 10 percent off. Since I was about to go for a late lunch, I got the additional 10 percent. The jewelry was 15 percent off.
I found a great honey mustard colored ribbed sweater with modern long sleeves and small golden pavé hoop earrings for total $67.10. But it gets better....when I went to the cafe for my elegant lunch and perfectly crafted decaf cappuccino, the waitress told me about the "Dine and Shop" promotion.
I see you shopped at Le Willow, she said, noticing my small white shopping bag. She pointed out the 30 percent discount [on the chalkboard] if you shop and eat at the two beautiful little places. That was fabulous and so was the small grass-fed burger on brioche bun.
I got a $7.42 lunch discount and my bill came to $18.48 with tax. I was delighted--stylish shop and stylish meal. I made sure to leave a generous tip on the table.
