TCOY
- Uncle Tim’s Bridge in Wellfleet w our doggies!
- Broiled scallops,
- Outdoor shower.
- Stopped by overlook at Marconi Beach. We counted 13 seals in a pack.
- Walked on Nauset Light Beach w Sis and Punch. Seals there, too, and surfers.
- Poetry contest. Sis. Dan, Punch and I each put $5 in a bowl. Then we each memorised a poem and recited it. Mine was a 2-liner, ^The Parent," by Ogden Nash. Dan’s was the beautiful "Gettysburg Address" by Abraham Lincoln. Punchy won with "What Are Heavy," a lovely poem that she sang. We each scored the other entrants from 1 to 10. P got a total score of 28. (I gave her a 10.) We all rose to the occasion. Really fun. My idea.
- Thai food takeout--ginger salmon, jasmine rice, vegs.
- Homemade guacamole (by Dan).
***$ yesterday and today
2 ATM bank fees, $6.
Thai takeout for 4 plus tip, $61 (Sus paid another $20)
Entry in poetry contest, $5.
Souvenir shop on route 6, tie-dye shirt for P, Cape Cod mug, large tube Ocean Potion sunscreen, flip flops because mine broke up here, Cape Cod car magnet, $42.01. (It was $20 more than that, but Sis insisted on giving me $20 to pay for the flip flops. Big sisters.)

Cumberland Farm, Dozen eggs, 2 gal water, Vanity Fair magazine, $15.
Money for Punch to do bumper boats etc w friend, $20 (Dan had originally given friend’s mom $40.)
Good night, Cape Cod.

LOVE the poetry contest. I’m also a big fan of memorizing it. I went through phases of memorizing poems, and still have snatches of those poems come to mind. When I used to do backpacking trips with the Sierra Club, it was a tradition to recite around the campfire. So kudos on your brilliant idea!
