Continuing Cape Cod Money 💰 Log

TCOY

  1. Uncle Tim’s Bridge in Wellfleet w our doggies!
  2. Broiled scallops,
  3. Outdoor shower.
  4. Stopped by overlook at Marconi Beach. We counted 13 seals in a pack.
  5. Walked on Nauset Light Beach w Sis and Punch. Seals there, too, and surfers.
  6. Poetry contest. Sis. Dan, Punch and I each put $5 in a bowl. Then we each memorised a poem and recited it. Mine was a 2-liner, ^The Parent," by Ogden Nash. Dan’s was the beautiful  "Gettysburg Address" by Abraham Lincoln. Punchy won with "What Are Heavy," a lovely poem that she sang. We each scored the other entrants from 1 to 10. P got a total score of 28. (I gave her a 10.)  We all rose to the occasion. Really fun. My idea.
  7. Thai food takeout--ginger salmon, jasmine rice, vegs.
  8. Homemade guacamole (by Dan).

  1. LOVE the poetry contest. I’m also a big fan of memorizing it. I went through phases of memorizing poems, and still have snatches of those poems come to mind. When I used to do backpacking trips with the Sierra Club, it was a tradition to recite around the campfire. So kudos on your brilliant idea!
