We put an extra leaf in my grandparents' old mahogany table, took out my parents' wedding china, and served our kind of chaotic big family dinner, by candlelight. But not until we had put out the smoking blueberry-pie drippings on the oven floor--they caused a choking haze when I went to bake individual shortcake biscuits--and unclogged the drain, where a little red cup had nestled in tightly, causing the deep sink to almost overflow. All of that before dinner was served.
It seems we used every dish and utensil we own. There was too little shrimp scampi and too much naked spaghetti. The shortcakes could have been more tender. I'm tired now, but it was fun. My favorite part was sitting around the table, and H. playing guitar after dinner.
Good night.

- Boot camp in the park. It's really hard for me in the summer; I go so slow.
- Walked Sug around block once.
- Weeded and watered garden.
- Salon blowout.
- Private Benjamin, H. and me.
- Ate some fruit and veggies, yes I did. The fresh organic raspberries were good.
One Christmas we almost had to call the fire department when my mother tried a "new" way to cook a roast beef that she read about in the paper. We had to open all the windows to vent billows of smoke and we all stood there, fanning the thick smoke out of the house. So these things happen to everyone. The roast was still good. Take care. Love, Lin
