Art Show, Two Drinks and Ready for Bed

Glass Half Full/Glass Half Empty by Catherine LeCleire. Silkscreen/woodcut.
One of my skilled, strong and speedy boot camp friends, Cathy LeCleire, is a professor @ Pratt and an artist. Tonight she had a show of her silkscreens @ BrassWorks on Grove Street in Montclair.

It was chic, with wine and Brie and crudités, women mingling in boots and black lace, pale pink skinny pleats, cut-out tops, men in open collared shirts. A lot of my boot camp pals were there--Patsy, Heidi, Michael, Rebecca, Helen, Sarah, Nicky, Peggy, Maria--and most of us brought our husbands [Michael, Heidi's husband, is in our BC class]. I love my boot camp friends. They run circles around me, I won't lie, but when we're out on the town, or pulling together when someone is going through something tough, we are all for one. Who knew where grueling track laps and step sets could take you?

One of my favorite of Cathy's pieces: the expansive Recycled Images, made from linocuts on plastic bags. Price: $2,000. [For more info, visit catherinelecleire.com]

Then we all headed over to Egan's on Walnut Street. One Amaretto sour and one margarita with salt later, I'm too tired to write more.

Good night.
